(Note: This is an actual continuation of my previous blog, if you haven’t finished reading the first part, ‘Rift Dancer’, you are going to enter the spoilers category. If you don’t care about the spoilers, that’s ok, because this is a new-reader friendly blog, but the story will make a lesser impact. Link to the blog: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )

Info:

Name: Simon.
Age: 543.
Appeared age: Middle twenties.
Home world: Earth. (Not our known earth, but the one of alternate reality.)
Race/species: Formerly a human, during his long life he’s been changing, ascending and descending. Once upon a time an existence known as vampire, later to be revealed that the curse was an entirely different thing. An immortal entity with abnormal powers, having a split personality, which later on developed into an existence of it’s own, causing for Simon to become a fractured soul. A false body made of shadows and the divine energy of the Holy tree of life, which was giving birth to all living things in a place called as Baltasar Hill village, infused with a fraction of his soul. An entity, which used to wield the power of the God and lately becoming a God of all existence. Yet he chose to revert this state of his and by reshaping the universe he made sure that even he will never remember what he was before. In the end his race remains undetermined, it’s just a mythical existence, which used to be a human at some point of history.

Height: Around 183cm.
Weight: Around 85kg.
Physical appearance: Athletic.

Hair: Originally crimson, long. Currently white, medium-length.
Skin: Pale white.
Gender: Male.
Occupation: Formerly - Mercenary, monster slayer, defender of earth, spy, defender of Atreia, leader of “Eternal Darkness”, nomad, leader of Baltasar Hill village, recruit in the Final Division, commander of the Final Division, Emperor of Oydra, warden of the holy tree of life. Currently - none.
Objectives: During his timeline he didn’t have a fixed goal as everything was going according to the flow of the events that took place. Most of the time all of his goals, dreams and ambitions were crumbling apart. He was attempting to stick on the right path, maintaining the peace and prosperity, but vengeance, which was flowing deep inside of his veins was always clouding his rightful goals. Just recently after his final fight with Siegmund he realized what is important to him. So instead of pursuing his vengeful path he decided to do something grander and with that being said, currently his primary objective is reshaping the world, stripping it away from power, hierarchy and unjust by delivering a devastating blow to those, who hold power and are responsible for the unfair situation, which brings despair to those, who fail to protect themselves. Even Simon became tired off fighting. His other objective is of course meeting up with his best friend Azure, who seems to be dead, but by regaining his memories back Simon knows that there is a way to revive him, since Azure may be still alive. While Triniel, the lady of Death is still on his list of bounties, he decided not to chase her anymore, leaving the job for ‘S’ to track and defeat her, however Simon swore to himself if he ever runs into her he will definitely bring her down by himself.
Other names/titles/nicknames: Someone, S, Siegmund, commander Simon, emperor Simon, boss, leader, vampire slayer, demon slayer, ally of shadows, rift dancer, black night crusader, hero of shadows, protector of Baltasar, etc.. Too many names to count.
Personality: Ambitious, prideful and highly courageous.

Powers/Abilities/Arsenal:

(Simon used to posses a large pool of various powers, however during bumpy roads and highest peaks of his lifetime he lost and gained many. So I’m going to write his current abilities and not those, that he used to posses in the past. This section will be changed from time to time with some added and some taken away, although the current status of the server is looking grim so this section is practically useless, especially for those who are looking to challenge him in RP match. But as long as our community remains chances are that a new server will rise from ashes one day, like it always did in the past.)

Curse of unholiness: Being one if not the one of his greatest strengths, noticed both in his offensive and defensive capabilities. Earlier known as the curse of vampirism gifted to Simon by the dark lord is actually something that no one was able to explain up to this point and thus the true origins and potential of this curse remains a mystery right to this very day. The curse of unholiness affected Simon’s live drastically and shaped the rest of his path, by granting him immortality, eternal youth and amazing regenerative abilities. Due to it’s effects he has no scars or deep wounds from the past, his limbs, if severed or dismantled, are able to regrow rapidly. Although the only drawback of this that each time it takes longer and longer to recover them. The immortal life gave him the access to different types of knowledge and allowed for him to taste different cultures. The eternal life and rapid healing were not the only factors of the curse’s effects however as his overall physical strength was greatly enhanced, his senses heightened, - turning him into a superior being. However with amazing pros, comes great cons as well... it twisted and bent his mind to the lengths where he easily lost his sanity and morality, making him merciless cruel and thirsting for blood and endless slaughter, developing a completely different and sinister personality of his, which later became an existence of it’s own, which not only challenged Simon countless of times and at some points even won, but also harmed others around him. However the biggest weaknesses of immortality is not how you are able to end it. It is how you are able to stop it, ripping Simon to shreds or reducing him to a puddle of blood might halt the recovery, shutting out his heart or brain and leaving no room for recovery might cause the same, - a temporal death, which occurred when a sword was stuck inside of his chest and he himself was pushed into the bottom of the ocean, with no room of recovery it resulted in death.

Eye of Zerneger: A newly acquired power of Simon, given by the God of space Zerneger as a parting gift to him. A purplish looking eye is not just for looks, it also allows for Simon to tap into the realm of spatial manipulation. While it doesn’t live up to the power that he once possessed, which was being able to travel across worlds and universe instantaneously, open rifts of abyss or bent gravity and natural laws of physics it still allows for Simon to pass through space. Whatever is in his sight he can easily warp there, without opening any rifts or portals, he can also change the trajectory of projectiles in sight by warping them to a different area of his sight. Swap the places with his foe or ally in need in an instant and whatever creative use he might think of. It’s a useful and deadly ability and this time it doesn’t cost his soul or body. Although at this point of time he’s far too inexperienced in using it and after severe use of it he can become temporarily blind with this eye.

Blue flame of ideals: Losing link with Zerneger Simon lost his ability to unleash one of his most devastating move, however remnant of it was left burning eternally as a reminder of their bond and once linked souls. Following him like a ghost of the past and acting as a shield of final defense if everything is breached. A last resort, which is able to deflect a strong and deadly move by extending itself and engulfing Simon’s body as a powerful barrier of blue fire.

Remnants of the Holy Tree of Life: Once upon a time, when Simon’s soul was split in half it was infused by the energy of the Holy Tree of Life and in the endgame of Simon’s battle against his other self, Simon absorbed the energy of the tree into his soul completely. It gave him a major boost in physical and magical abilities, although during his final clash he burned out most of this energy but the traces are still clinging to this day making him stronger and more durable than he normally was. Although the boost is not as significant as it was when he absorbed it, it greatly expanded his stamina and strengthened the structure of his body. Combined with the curse of unholiness it is easily visible that Simon now possesses abnormal strength even among superhuman kind. Yet it’s not infinite and has it’s own limitations such as massive strains on his body and extreme tiredness, once he hits the bottom of his stamina he is weak as a helpless child.

Mastery of natural energy manipulation: The most reliable technique since the old days, - universe is made up of particles, which is running by the forces of nature. In each region it is different, in places it is called as “chi”, “mana”, others calls it as “chakra”, in Atreia it is “aether”, no matter the region or the corner of the universe the energy is still the same, while not entirely it’s still the natural energy, which flows among living beings and inside of them. By harnessing these energies Simon is able to increase his strength further, manipulate the force of his strikes and blows, infuse it with magical abilities or support his other signature moves with it. Although he has no need for this, since nowadays he is using a lot of more exotic techniques than just bending nature energy to his will, he’s been in a full mastery of it since the days of the past, right before he was immortal.

Blessing of darkness: Commonly believed to be the branch of magic, which affiliates itself with necromancy. In reality it’s just an exotic element that Simon is aligned to. While manipulation of darkness is not associated with the four major elements such as air, water, fire, earth in Simon’s home world it was achieved by many evil deities and demons through evolution of different main elements or gifted naturally from birth. Achieving this form of magic or elemental manipulation in Simon’s home planet was possible by either controlling water and evolving it to blood magic, fusing it with ice, which is a branch of advanced water manipulation and infusing it with lava sub-element, which is possible by combining advanced fire and water magic. In Simon’s case, he was just born blessed and his natural evolution occurred differently. His lineage was known for being aligned to fire element for centuries, they used it to combat undead creatures and other foul beasts as this form of magic or elemental manipulation was the most effective against these monsters. The fire held a symbolic meaning for humans, as it was the symbol of warmth, love, light and freedom.. it was good for domestic uses as well, especially in the world of ice such as Simon’s Earth, and it was one of the most perceivable elements to grasp for the mortal kind. It was believed that the highest form of fire was light, another exotic element, which is opposite to darkness and in most cases more effective than darkness, although just like light can extinguish the darkness, the darkness can devour the light. No one was able to confirm, which element was stronger right to this very day. Simon’s father Leon was studying the element of light for the most of his life, in the process he became the master of fire and even evolved it to lightning, which was an advanced form of fire. But all of his efforts were meaningless right till the very end, he gave up on it and became blind to this path forever, he thought that it was impossible for mortal beings to bend light to their will, which was crucial for the sake of the world back then. Instead he imitated light with the help of the priests by using blessings and incantations on various tools, weapons and objects, as a result developing the holy energy. However, then Simon came into the world, a child with no particular talents or blessings, Leon forced him to control fire against his will, since Simon’s early days, but he was so blind that he never noticed how his son was born with the element of light and thus in the process Simon already had complete mastery of fire and light manipulation. But something happened when Simon was cursed, instead of fire his element changed to ice and the light evolved into the most dangerous form of darkness. With years Simon was developing this element’s prowess, evolving it further and further as it deemed itself as the corrupted light. Darkness so strong, which is able to extinguish the light. It is the main source of Simon’s power, having complete mastery over it he can easily combine it with his other elements.. such as fire, for example creating black flames or throw enormously powerful energy projectiles of darkness right at his foes, the use of it was always up to him. Enhancing his weapons, creating seals and incantations, but his signature technique remains to be the inferno of darkness. (Alright I know I overextended myself, but basically the evolution of his element is extraordinary among his folk,  it goes this way Light/Fire>Darkness, instead of standard in his world, which is Fire/Water>Ice/Blood/Lightning>Lava>Darkness. xD So in way this makes it into mutated form of light element. xD At least in this setting.)

Mastery of shadows: The most versatile technique in his arsenal is not the sheer power of black flames or complete manipulation of darkness though. Simon invented this technique himself and developed it to amazing lengths, while he is unable to create shadows out of nowhere, but by having such a high-end mastery of darkness and combining it with natural energy manipulation he is able to reanimate the shadows to fight for him, shaping and twisting them according to his will, without even moving his fingers anymore, just by the simple thought of it. He uses them for both defensive and offensive actions, he can even temporarily patch his wounds with shadows, to stop the bleeding, it is also a good supportive ability to save his allies. Mastery of shadows have lots of uses, for sneaking, disguising or even tracking, immobilizing or creating weapons and armor. The use is endless and throughout his life he’s been manipulating shadows accordingly to his need in the situation. Although this was the most difficult technique to master for him, back in the early days he relied to hand signs and at cases even spell words, but now he is able to do it effortlessly and command masses of shadows, the more shadows, the more creative uses. Although when the half of his soul was cleansed by the Holy tree of Life, he lost his major element of darkness, but it didn’t take long for him to realize that the darkness was born inside of him again, as the curse was never ceasing, although at that point of time it was severely weakened by the help of Atreia’s demons and wicked Goddesses he managed to enhance this technique of shadow bending further and in the end he mastered the way of shadows. No fatal weakness exist to this technique except for one, and that one is self-explanatory. An area without shadows, but when there is light there are also shadows. And the brighter the light, the bigger the shadow is casted.

Experience and intelligence: This might be not an ability or a power, but without a good head even the most powerful fall. And Simon is not a stranger for this, while being emotional and arrogant at first over the years he learned to behave and to keep his emotions intact or at least inside of his head. Yet the emotions for him are the biggest bane for his experience and intelligence it doesn’t stop him from achieving what most can’t. A long life of losses and wins, gave him brilliant experience and even tactical thinking. Especially back on the occasions when he wasn’t strong enough to deal with his opponents he always relied to his head. The life also was testing his leadership skills along the years, it’s like the life itself was preparing him for this day. From the leader of Earth’s resistance forces, to the leader of the organization and even the village and a whole new world of Oydra, he’s been being tested to become a leader. Of course not all of his decisions ended up in success as the odds were always against him, he indeed gained experience from it and learned from his mistakes. Although for the past years, when his memories were absent he had to rely on his sheer strength alone and it wasn’t a wrong choice, since nowadays he can deal with common threats just by using sheer force. However even if he is experienced and intelligent he feels like there is a lot for him to discover and learn, a whole universe is full of wonders. Sometimes self-doubt and the lack of confidence is the weakness of his experience, as the decision making is everything.

Swordsmanship: It is self-explanatory, Simon is good with various types of blades. From mere kitchen knives and daggers to the fabled swords. His weapon of choice is a great sword, although he is no stranger in using one handed swords or even wielding two swords/daggers at once.

Azure’s cracked Blade: A new weapon picked by Simon, during his deadliest battle in history, once belonging to his closest friend. It saved Simon’s life when his sword Zerneger ceased to function. It is a weapon once wielded by the ‘Shadow of Baltasar’, not much is known about it, whether where it’s from or from which metals it was actually made. There seemed to be a strange glow emanating from within, the cracked edges along the blade show traces of liquefied shadows. The once probably exquisite blade is now stained black, and frayed at the hilt. It looks like it will soon crumble into nothing, however Simon promised that he will take good care of his friend’s sword and fix it properly. It also have two inherent abilities, one being called as “Dark Eater”, -Darkness based magic or attacks are actually absorbed into the blade, empowering it's next strike significantly the amount it can hold per discharge seems limitless, a devourer at it's core. The second being “Echo of Flames” - Channeled slashes with this blade can create walls of black flames in it's wake or send them out flying in respective directions, serving offensive and defensive features. This sword and it’s abilities is a perfect fit for Simon, because he can further increase this blade’s effectiveness with his darkness based abilities. However it is a back wrenching sword, it’s a heavy weapon to wield or carry and although Simon has the strength to swing it easily, it doesn’t mean that his energy is not depleting from each swing at all.

Azure’s mask:A memento of his friend, also known as his face. (No spoilers here, but to truly activate it’s powers come and bring a powerful foe for Simon and see what happens. An Easter egg move, which can probably kick anyone’s ass in the endgame, or is it?)

Adept archery skills: Although for the most of his life he never relied on long range combat, there were some occasions when he had to put his skills to a test and as a result he wasn’t doing that bad. Using bows was never his pick, however just lately he realized that he found great uses for bows. Combining it with his techniques and his new eye of Zerneger it’s a new deadly way of fighting his foes.

Bow of Truth: (Coming soon, new weapon, new stuff, blah blah... Basically I listed it here now, but we are entering into spoilers category here. I’ll update this section when the story progresses to this point.)

Chapter 0: Dawn.

Rewrite. The story of what? The life of who?

Am I finally awake?

It’s been so damn long...

Why did I lose everything?

Is this really the thing that I wanted?

It seems that my story is far from over...

But I don’t feel like it’s my story anymore...

I feel like it’s not just my story...

Indeed, this is not going to be my story anymore.

Mark my words!

By glancing at the world with my ancient eyes, which were shut for years I swallowed the pillow of harsh reality, which was now stuck inside of my brain. The memories were filling in the empty gaps of my head, those were the past experiences, far too many to count and far too much to comprehend.. it seemed as if I was living a multiple life. The experiences were paralleled and the actions of mine differed, as if I was living through the eyes of not one, but dozens of personas. However, I never thought that I would return... Return as my true self, now I was able to understand why I used to hate myself so much, but yet this made me smile that I, once again was able to act according to my own whims. The only thing that was unease was this throbbing sensation in my chest, as if the weight of all world, the weight of all losses and the troubles of all lifetimes was attempting to sink my already isolated and frozen heart. However a sliver of light and warmth was still tickling my heart, because the experiences that I just had as a completely different person brought me to this point.

How naive!

How could I be so foolish?

Did I really want this?

To live a peaceful life?

To be so ignorant and blinded from truth?

Blindness caused only more despair...

Blindness made me frail...

And instead of reverting the situation... I...

I...

...Merely fucked up!

Disgraceful...

However, I have no regrets.

At the very end I feel fulfilled.

After all, almost everything was going according my plan...

And if it wasn’t for the absent memories, I would have to deal with a lot of more nuisances.

In the end, I am so tired from fighting...

...But... it’s inevitable...

My glance shifted to Thomas, who was standing nearby. So, it appeared that he really pulled this trick as a last resort, to cheat his death he sacrificed half of his lifespan and now he was standing as an old geezer. This pitiful sight almost made me laugh, but I held in my breath and instead smiled. I was able to pick up the scent of fear coming from him, it was damn cold, but yet his palms were sweating, his knees were pulsating. He was so afraid of me. And yet he was saying that I would regret to remember everything about my past... No... the more accurate answer was this, - He was just afraid of my return.

-”Say Thomas, when was the last time since we spoke, when I was still myself?”- I inquired and drew closer to him, starring eye-to-eye.
-”Six years ago, I think..”- Thomas gulped and uneasily rubbed his palms against each other, expressing a diminished and fake smile on his face.
-”Exactly! And where did it happen?”- I followed up with another question.
-”Uh... in the throne room...”- He took a step backwards, he did not even realize that he just tripped on the cliff of the snowy mountain, causing a weak and almost unnoticeable landslide.
-”Yes.. six years ago, while I still had everything...”- I pointed out and faintly frowned, tilting my face to the side.. tears began to build up on my eyes. However, I just clenched my fists as firmly as I could and held in the emotions.
-”I’m sorry, man...”- Thomas gave out his condolences.
-”You were one of my best friends, you know...”- I stated the thing, which was the fact in the past. Staring into his eyes with a furious and both sad look on my face.
-”I am really sorry! You are still my friend, Simon.”- His aura was disseminating fear and panic.
-”Shh... now... now... It’s alright... everything is alright...”- With a sudden movement of mine, I rushed in to hug him firmly, reassuring him that everything will be alright.
-”Simon.. I was just foolish... Forgive me...”- Thomas wrapped his arms around me as well.
-”Everything is alright, my man... Of course I forgive you. I am thankful for your effort.. Thank you for restoring my memories. Now rest easy, the war of ours is finally over.”- I placed my head on his shoulder and smiled warmly. I was able to hear how his heart was pounding, it sounded like it was about to explode out off his chest.
-”No, it is thanks to you. I learned to be a better person than I used to be...”- Thomas chuckled uneasily.
-”Yeah... you sure did..”- The smile on my face widened, and from warm and reassuring one it turned out to be one of the most twisted and delusional ones. In fact it was so wide that even I would of been afraid of myself if I were to stare at my own reflection. I moved my right arm downwards a little and drew in a portion of Thomas’ shadow into my palm, the lump of shadow stretched and shaped itself into a sharp dagger.
-”You know what...?”- I opened my mouth once more.
-”What?”- He asked.
-”I hope that you will die a cold and painful death, traitor!”- I shouted and plunged the blade into his back, Thomas’ blood splatted on my palm and some of it descended on the snow, dyeing it in crimson colors. I let go of him and without showing any remorse pushed him off the cliff.
-”Why?!”- This was his last word for me, but even this one was silenced by his hopeless scream for help, and I was only able to enjoy by spectating his fall. Especially how he bumped head first on the rocks below and bounced off like a rubber ball, only to fall lower and lower... Yet the sight of his fractured skull was the most satisfying to look. I had no time to talk with traitors and this was the befitting finale for him. The birth of Simon and the death of Thomas. It was the only right solution to pay my debts to a person, who agreed to erase my memories and betray me afterwards, and since the memories were reborn his sweet death was inevitable.

If you manage to survive...

Then survive and crawl on the dirt like a worm...

Crawl where you belong...

I have no interest in the lives of lowlifes.

But yet a small needle of mercy was stabbing my heart...

The snowflakes were scattered by a chilling breeze until the snow finally ceased to fall.. the mighty clouds, which were above the mountains, began to disperse and the light of the sun carved it’s way through the gaps of the darkest clouds.. A sunbeam illuminated the peak and blinded my horizon.. I was standing directly under the pillar of sun. It’s been a good ride, I knew it... And for a moment I felt like the things were already over, even though I lost the ultimate power, even though I lost the throne and even my home, friends... Family... Even if I achieved nothing throughout my life... never fulfilled my goals.. in the very end of it I was the only one standing here.. In the end I won everything, I survived... Survival was my prize in this competition known as life... Yet it felt so grim and empty, as if nothing was left to do.. as if emptiness finally consumed me.. and then.. after a couple of minutes of wondering I found myself laughing hysterically.. My hysterical laughter reechoed across the skies and even caused a landslide on the mountain, which was next to the one I was standing on. But then I suddenly stopped and fell into dead silence...

No...

This is not the end yet...

This is only a beginning...

I don’t want to fight...

But...

This is the only way to ensure my survival...

This is the only way to maintain order...

If my own life is not enough...

Then this world will become my playground...

Until I eradicate those, who seek to unleash a calamity...

However this time, I won’t be alone...

I picked up the black steel mask, which was attached to my cloth and lifted it above my head, slowly rotating it clockwise.

See, Azure? This is the world that we are living in...

I finally reached the light...

I finally reached the top...

This world is for us...

With no threats to oppose us...

Let’s forget about Triniel and forsake the thought of vengeance...

We are missing out on the better things in this life...

We are missing out on peaceful moments in life, just like this marvelous sight...

Just like this refreshing smell of air...

...And winds, which just calmed down...

S will deal with Triniel alone or with the army of his own...

We are not needed...

Although if we ever ran into her, she will be begging for mercy...

Because her actions are unforgivable, bu there’s no need to chase her right now...

No...

There are far bigger things to deal with, far bigger threats to oppose..

Just now I realized that the whole world is my nemesis...

I took a deep breath and lowered the mask down, glancing between my feet with a smile on my face. I shrugged and began to descend downwards the mountain.. What a madman... I was just talking to the mask.. imagining that I was looking at his face... How shameful... It appeared that I had a few screws loose... The snowy path appeared to be long and endless and the thoughts of mine were flooding my soul.. Little by little the memories of my past actions came into their places... Little by little I was starting to realize how shitty my life actually was... But it was the best life that I had... and it was just a story of me.. this is why.. the next chapter of my life is not going to be about me, instead it will be about everyone, because protagonist like me was not needed for a story so grand.. But even though I started this and I was the only one, who would be able to finish this story... But where was the beginning exactly?

How did I come to this point? What exactly brought me here and why I came to be like this? After the years of feeling lost between my thoughts and locked memories I finally began to understand what made me, the way I was now... And now I knew how it all started...

Hah... actually this takes me back...

And the road is long...

And the thoughts are jumbled...

The feelings mixed...

So I think... I have...

...Some time...

...To reminisce...

So for now... let’s go back to the beginning...

And in this dawn of new life...

...Let’s revert the pendulums and go back to the point where my story began.

As my eyes were closed everything went dark and the ticking sound of the clock accelerated and raced backwards, bringing my mind and consciousness to the beginning of my story. An eerie and chilly sensation tickled my skin as the visions of ice and secluded darkness engraved themselves into my mind.

To be continued in next chapter!

(So, I will try to be as brief as possible here. Hell yeah! I'm back.... and with me being back it means that I am getting back to business! But wait! That's illegal! The server is going to be turned down by the end of the month. Bah! As if that would stop me, although it's quite sad, because I wanted to do 75/25 - RP/Custom ratio in this blog. So what am I even thinking? Well, it's simple really, maybe one day... maybe sometime the server will be live again and my hope never dies! Although it is foolish to place everything on hope, but there is another reason for this story.. I have some unfinished business from the last blog.. for example Simon's backstory... really.. only the old timers probably know his origins, but what about the new kind? Not to mention that I am going to enhance his backstory, since I didn't feel right with his original one. I also have two additional custom stories that will play out in this blog, of course the sad part about this that I wanted to do it as RP as possible, but things are as they are for now.. The sad thing is that it won't probably be the way I wanted for it to be and not as dynamic and unpredictable as throwing others into the mix, but oh well... So as always I will do my thing and will try my best. I returned and I just can't drop my plans and the things that I thought through so far. Most importantly this is not the only blog, by the end of the week or earlier/later another similar blog will rise. So if you ever enjoyed Simon's story make sure to check that one out, because it will have another leading character and a new story. One last thing the info chart will be updated with time, because I suck at those, but it was a fun practice. Alright till the next time then!)

Chapter 1: Revert The Pendulums.

A journey to the ends of darkness! A destined past, when his unending story began...

A long time ago I was born in a world, which circumstances were unclear and most if not all of the past records were completely eradicated within the flow of time. It was a world, which held no history nor past and future alike. That place was just like that, since the very moment of my birth, and the people of my world called it as Earth. This Earth was a barren world of ice, darkness and unending cruelty, crawling with sins of the humanity and wilting from the foul and bloody lifestyle of mythical creatures of the night and death. Basically the world, in which I was born in was just a place trapped in the moment of time, never evolving, nor degrading, hence it appeared to be frozen both literally and figuratively. Although during my stay in Atreia I heard stories from other earthlings that Earth at least used to be a populous world of greenery and it even contained giant lands of water, which were known as the oceans. Overall the Earth that they were talking about was hundreds of thousands times better than the one I was born in, and only now the current me was able to comprehend how all of their descriptions of Earth were possible, - I either came from a different reality, another universe or a parallel timeline, because not a single one of their descriptions matched the world that I was born in. However, there used to be one grand legend about our world, that despite everything that we had and known in this world used to be way different ages ago, it used to be a modern world, filled with blooming population and even sunlight. The elders were telling the stories that thousands of years ago, before all of us and before all of the records of the past were wiped from the planet, there used to be a technologically advanced civilization, which had buildings that were taller than mountains and our tallest towers, that had immortal, metallic horses with wheels for legs and weapons stronger than any blades, arrows or even magic. However, since there were no records most of us believed that those were just made up stories for children to fantasize and no one even bothered to dig deeper, not even I... but I was curious about this idea and I thought to myself that maybe there even used to be a sunlight in this world prior our era of existence, because the most bizarre thing about our Earth was the fact that it did not contain a sunlight. They told us nothing, but foolish excuses of a world, which was made in Heaven... but then an event known as great cleansing happened and everything in the old world has crumbled. But what was the lie and what was the truth in a world so twisted as this? Such philosophical thoughts were only drawing us back and were making us to lose our focus on the things that were happening in front of us and in this world the survival of the fittest was the only thing that mattered.

Thus I grown to call this world as the “World of Darkness” or the “Black Earth.” Even though this world was far from spectacular, considering all of the horrors that were lurking in our daily lives, it was amazing in it’s own way. It was a world, where magic and miracles roamed free, it was a world of great heights and lengths and contained a great amount of talented and spectacular people, one of them was I actually. And despite the extreme colds, shortage of water and food supplies our race were adapting to the harsh conditions. We were a far more developed and evolved race than our predecessors, however humans were still lowest in the food chain. After all, we were living among vampires, werewolves, demons, hell beasts, shape-shifting creatures, bizarre lizards known as dragons, zombies, undead monsters and powerful, but foul deities known as the lords of darkness and chaos and there was a lot more than them.. how they came into existence was unclear, they just happened to be there, living alongside us humans and bringing us to a brink of extinction. But as humans we were united, we were forming alliances between each other and in numbers we were a great force. Because our affiliation with magic was great and it was only thanks to magic and our unending thought of survival, which were separating us from extinction. Our greatest allies however were the werewolves, they were the only neutral race that considered us as equals and it was thanks to my great, great grandfather that they were like that, once upon a time he formed an unbreakable alliance with them. With them on our side we had increasing chances of surviving the coldest winters and darkest nights to come. However with great allies there were great enemies too, our greatest nemesis was the race of vampires, since we were an easy prey, they considered us as cattle and some of them were even breeding us for their tastes. And the other ones being as the race of humans, who were manipulated by vampires. They were known as the “Clan of Ice”, but we called them as the slaves of vampires. So even humanity was split apart, because of them.. not to mention that there were other threats existing that we were supposed to worry about.

In total there were four clans of humans, - the “Clan of Fire” being as the strongest and the one, who was leading the humanity to most of the victories against the monsters. The “Clan of Earth”, which contained the largest number of humans, they were also good workers and good warriors, even though they did not excel in magical abilities greatly their most notable feature was their physical strength. The “Clan of Water”, they had the lowest numbers, but those were the tribes of humans that were guarding the ancient lakes and rivers, which contained actual drinkable water and most of them were powerful water magicians. Despite their low numbers they were very intelligent and were friendly to the other clans, because water was crucial for every human. And then of course there was the “Clan of Ice”, it was a delusional clan of fanatics, which grew into a different race that managed to adapt to the harshest winters and their skin was more resistant to cold, they were serving vampires for ages. Building them castles and fortresses, selling their necks for night crawlers’ nasty fangs and fighting alongside them. It was said that some of them were lucky enough to be turned into vampires themselves and it is led to be believed that the cause of their allegiance towards vampires was the wish for immortal life.

The other known clans were those of vampires. The “Clan of Shadow”, a race of ruthless and deadly vampires that took the path of darkness and black magic. Little was known about them, but it was said that they showed up very rarely, as they tended to do their dirty work through animals, monsters, zombies, or even other humans. They had no desire to drink blood from humans, because according to them our blood was nothing more, but filthy.. however the other side of the coin was that they wanted us dead the most, because all filth was not supposed to exist in their eyes. So an encounter with one of them always ended up in someone’s death. This clan greatly excelled in illusions and manipulations, some of them even had the abilities to tap into the magic of darkness and they were necromancers at heart. They were commonly known for their monstrous and inhuman appearance, closely resembling demons, but some even called them as fallen angels, due to their unusual wings. The “Clan of Blood”, was the other clan of vampires.. they were the majority of vampires, tricksters, rapists and manipulators. Majority of them were former humans with their minds corrupted. Mostly they enjoyed to toy with their prey and usually they tended to leave their prey alive, for it’s blood to replenish the other time. However, on the extreme cases they were buying humans and keeping them as mere pets. This clan was our common enemy, from bloody conflicts to kidnappings of the children, thievery and murder. This clan was causing all sorts of calamities to humans. In nature they were very intelligent and greedy, but their most notable features were that they looked almost like humans and it was easy to mistake one for a fellow human. They were also the masters of blood and ice magic. The last clan of vampires was called as the “Elders”, just as the name was suggesting they were the oldest among the vampires and contained some of the most powerful vampires in the world. Mostly they were the lineages of the rich and wealthy barons, however not much was known about them at that current time, since they were the most mysterious and rarest ones.

Lastly there existed three clans of the werewolves. The “Clan of Fang”, this clan used to be as the most known one, due to it’s sheer numbers and closeness to humankind, because this race of the werewolves was unable to shape-shift into their wolf forms at their own will. A full moon was needed to be present for their transformation to take place. However even in their human forms they had outstanding physical strength and heightened senses. They used to build their cities and towns near humans. They were used to know for their brown, gray and sometimes black fur, regenerative abilities, overall health and long lifespan. The “Clan of Moon” was the most mysterious clan of werewolves, due to their unknown origins and secluded lifestyle, they were commonly found in dense forests, living in small houses, tents or even caves. They did not have high numbers, but they were powerful shamans, magicians and priests. It was also said that their lifespan was far greater than their relatives in the “Clan of Fang”. But their most notable feature was that they were able to transform at will, but their full power would only manifest in full moon. They were mostly known for their gray, red and black fur and exotic eye colors. The last clan was known as “The Alphas”, this clan was by far the most powerful one and the most respected one. Comparing to the other clans of werewolves their population was a joke, but this clan was led by the alpha of all the werewolves. The very same alpha was known as the king of all clans, and this clan contained the strongest and most elite of their warriors, they were capable of shifting into their wolf form at anytime, while in rage their strength would grow even more and no moonlight restrictions were applied to them, they were able to tap into their full power right off the bat. Both powerful in their human and beast forms they were the rulers of all and lived among the forests like the “Clan of Moon”, They were both great hunters and workers, good sorcerers and by far they were feared by even vampires. Their highest strength was lying in their secondary transformation, not much was known about how could one achieve this transformation, but it was basically averting to their primal senses and purity of their minds. They were capable of transforming into gigantic wolves, further increasing their strength and destructive capabilities. They were mostly known for their silver, white, golden fur colors.

Thus these clans were constantly at war, it was mostly a war between vampires and humans though. The clans of “Fire, Earth, Water, Fang, Moon, Alphas” were formed into one big alliance, helping each other, establishing trading routes and providing support or even defense to the villages of citizens. The six clans had a common goal, to evolve together and have a prosperous life in this madness driven world. The opposing alliance consisted of “Ice, Shadow, Blood, Elders” clans and what they sought was to enslave all of the humans, breed them as cattle for their own likes and even eradicate most of humanity, by corrupting their minds and averting them to immortal life. Their numbers were constantly increasing and vampires’ immortal lifestyle was nothing more, but a threat to humans, because they had to be extra cautious when fighting them. However this was not the story about them constantly fighting each other, but rather an introduction to the setting in which I was born in and their constant conflict was the main cause for my life to take drastic turns.

And so it was a spring time, although it did not make any difference wherever it was spring, summer, autumn or winter.. the world always looked all the same, with every season being cold and the winter itself being extremely cold. It was the April 4th of the year 3056, when I came into existence. A second lucky child was born to the famous Leon and Sonia of “Fire Clan.” In fact I was truly lucky, because the chances of survival in this world for newborns or even children were close to zero, most were born already dead and some died right after their mothers gave birth to them. It all happened, because of the polluted air and whoever was lucky to be even born had to deal with the spreading diseases around the globe and growing up sounded just as miraculous, because the humans were constantly at war with their enemies and other things that this world had to offer. But the fact that I was the second child in my family sounded even more insane. By the time I was born my sister Lydie was already eight years old and hunting with my father. However I was not the last child in my family, two years after my little brother Eliah was born. So that made me a middle child and I was treated like one as well, not the one, who received a lot of love like the third one and not as intelligent and dutiful as the first one. I was born to be a rebel, but the story of my birth was a little bit different and even then I had no idea that my future life was nothing more, but a miracle.

It was a fact that I was born as a healthy baby, I was even blessed that I was born in the strongest clan, which humanity had. I was even lucky that I was a descendant of the family, who found this clan and was the most respected and by far strongest one. A family, which managed to unite most of the humanity and even throw werewolves into the mix, a family who was known well for bending the fire to it’s will and later on inventing the fire magic. My family was also known for having crimson hair for centuries and it was not a surprise why my father, my sister and I had crimson hair at birth. My mother however originated from a different family and even clan, thus she did have black hair, like my little brother what was a bit odd, because there was no man across the generations, who had black hair in our family.. at least not the one that we were able to remember from the past times. But mostly my family was known for exterminating vampires, and even my father and his late father and so on... were the leaders of the fabled vampire slayer’s guild. On my birth I was just a defenseless baby crying my cyan eyes dry, my mother always used to tell me how cute and pure I looked on the day I was born. My sister Lydie was also happy to see me alive and well and since the very day of my birth she took special care of me, however even though I was lucky to be born in such strong and well guarded position my father was displeased with my birth. He wanted to feed me to the dogs, because he did not want to see me growing up in a world so harsh and the expenses for the new family member would of brought famine to the household. However my mother and big sister were against my old man’s idea and they did everything to stop him from bringing an infant to the jaws of dogs. My father almost broke up with my mother that day, but it was mostly thanks to my sister’s efforts, she proposed that she would be hunting more and training harder, helping him on dangerous missions so that the family could eat. Old man agreed to the two and allowed for me to live, however he saw no potential in me, since the day I was born and thus he forsaken me as his son and later even regretted the fact that he allowed for me to live, because in his eyes I was the cause that led him to ruin his own life. However, there was one more truth that mattered to me the most, my mother loved me.

A boy, who wanted to grow up too soon...

As the time was progressing things were getting slightly better and more natural. I used to live in a village by the frozen lake, it was not an average village, it was a militarized village. It was surrounded by huge stone walls and had towers erected from all sides, which ensured an all direction defense. It was both home to hunters and merchants and it’s geographical location was crucial for all of the clans to establish trading routes. If the village were to fall down one day, it would of deem itself as a critical strike to humanity’s forces. Roughly around a thousand people lived in the village, the majority of them being from “Fire Clan”, but the majority of workers and merchants were from “Earth clan” and at times a werewolf or two stumbled upon the village to buy or sell some valuable goods. The village’s main power source was the fire, at the center plaza an eternal and huge flame was burning, warming up the village’s temperature to a livable one. It was achieved by the sorcerers of fire and these were responsible for it’s eternal life, basically at least two of them were always standing by the fire and muttering some magical words. Each and every building or house contained different sources of fire too, be it a lantern or a torch, every place was illuminated and warmed up by the flames. However, the village was not only famous for it’s trading routes, but it was also the place where the famous vampire slayer’s guild was found. The outskirts of the village were heavily protected by traps and had an external layer of spiky wall, which was covered deeply within the snow. It was a protection against zombies and beasts without any intelligence. By looking further from the outskirts a small mountain was standing where Lydie and my father used to train alongside the other guild members, soldiers and hunters alike. Beneath the mountain a vast horizon of dense forests were filling up one’s eyes. From dead and rotten trees, to completely frozen ones, which resembled icicles and even those, who were wondrously adapting to the icy atmosphere, blooming and growing further. It was a sight of both pain and wonder.  The village itself was brimming with life and for a simple child in a world like this, the village appeared to be like heaven. The only contradiction to this was the fact that I was not a simple child.

It was not a simple thing to be growing up in such a big and famous family, the villagers had high expectations of me, I always had to deal with my siblings and father, and the kids of my age were always picking on me for what I was. My father was forcing me to work in the household, since the early days and my mother was busy taking care of my little brother, while my sister for some reason used to be very angry at me.. She said that everything was because of me and my incompetence, that she had to work so hard. However, my mom were always telling that my sister was just tense, but in reality she loved me deeply and wanted for me to grow up soon, so that I could help her. Dad on the other hand was always forcing me to undergo severe training and even took me on some hunting trips in my early days, but everything was always ending up in his own disappointment, not only that I was not strong enough, but I was a pacifist at heart, I was against taking the lives of other living beings and I was against fighting for glory or heroism altogether. Nor I was intelligent to be useful or in any way special to be useful to my family and the village, I was just below average and even my little brother, who was two years younger than me was showing more promise than me. Thus my father and the villagers just used to detest me and they were always saying that I was a shame of humanity. Their words and actions were hurting me and most of the times I was always ending up in some corner crying.

I had no amazing abilities whatsoever and my father always tried to force me to read those stupid books about fire magic, as if I had the potential... I never even managed to light up a single candle. But father on the other hand was the master of fire and lightning elements, he was also a seasoned warrior and had holy bracelets with crosses for symbols all over his body, he was also always carrying small vials of holy water, attached to his leather belt and sword, which was enhanced by the local priests. Each and every tool in his arsenal was efficient enough to bring down any demon, vampire or any other creature of the night. Once upon a time I even witnessed it firsthand how the vampire was melting from just a simple drop of the holy water. And yet while my dad and sister, who was following his steps, were both amazing I was even unable to hold a sword right. Not that I envied them by any means, but the pressure from the environment was always making me anxious that I should be just as talented. My little brother did not seem to carry those abilities either, however unlike me he’s been always pampered by others, they were saying things like he was just too young, just a late bloomer. But even then he was far more superior than me, he took after father’s height and easily passed me, it was humiliating enough to be shorter than my little brother. Not to mention that he was way more intelligent than me and he was a crafty fella too, usually he’s been drawing all sorts of maps as his hobby and even outsmarting the merchants to trade in some good stuff to his favor. Although he was a child of fire just like me, he did not posses any fire related abilities, instead he appeared to be aligned with water element and was extraordinary talented in it, since his earliest days. He mostly took after his mother of course, so water was to be expected, because mom was from the “Clan of Water”, a beautiful former priestess, who met my father during his travels around the world and fell for him. In the end I was just a middle and forgotten child, but my mother was always encouraging me to believe in myself, that I was special in my own way, and she was also always standing up for me when others were against my behavior.. a true protector she was and this was the best thing that I adored about her.. I also used to adore my big sister, but she was always bullying me and saying that I was only getting in the way, however at heartfelt moments she always expressed her affection through her own tears and warm gestures. Despite the envy of being inferior in everything, which was eating away my tiny heart, I loved all of them except for my father, because back then I really used to hate him.

And thus the son of the hero Leon was nothing more, but a sore loser and troublemaker. I always resorted to pranks to express my feelings and caused trouble for the local villagers, my parents always scolded me for my behavior, but it was mostly my mom, because my father was always busy with his research, always perfecting his magical capabilities and finding new ways on defeating the vampires. He was rarely at home, and I thought for him to be a shitty excuse of a father, but back then I just knew nothing and I was way too young and naive to understand the harsh truth. But there was one thing, where I shone the most and it was my curious nature and pure heart. I always resorted to justice, protecting the smaller and weaker kids from bullies, helping the elders... even if I was disliked among them I was still trying my best to help the others in need, because I loved their bright smiles. But what truly got me was my philosophical nature, I always wondered how this world was working, tackling impossible topics and questions and challenging myself to find the truth about the world that I was living in. My biggest concerns were those, - why the sky was always dark and the only light source was the moonlight, why was it always cold outside and what kind of world and it’s mysteries awaited for me beyond the walls? Without adult’s supervision no child was allowed to venture outside the village or even go to the forest. That’s why I gradually picked up hunting and we used to hunt together with my sister more frequently. I was not good with the bow and arrow, but the time has showed me that I had the potential to learn... I just needed more time than others and I even received my first blade, from my sister as a gift for my constant help. From then and onward I continued to train on my own, without my father watching.. although I was still struggling to take the lives of other sentient creatures I knew this the most that without learning how to protect myself I would of never survived in the outside world. That was my cause, my fuel for the very same goal to find out what the world had to offer and my biggest dream was to know more about black sky and to find a way to restore the sunlight to these lands, because as a child I used to hear ancient tales of how this world was a bright and beautiful world... this world was by far not white or trapped within the thickest layers of ice, but it was green and overflowing with life. For this very reason I wanted to grow up fast and see for myself, whether there was a way to restore the sun or not. Whether there was a way to melt the ice and see the greenery of the beautiful world and whether there was a way to cleanse the rotten air. But those were just the childish ambitions of mine and I did know little at that point of time. I was nothing more, but a hopeless dreamer.

But I was just so wrong... wrong on so many levels... my dreams were pure and my thoughts were great, but those were just delusions of undeveloped wisdom. And this was the point of my life when the story of my life started to begin. It was the 6th of July, the year was 3065. At that point of time I was already nine, my brother Eliah was seven and my sister Lydie was seventeen. My sister was already going on expeditions with my father and was one of the most powerful warriors in the village, despite her young age she was a true talent and was adored by people. It was believed that Lydie would be the next successor to my father and I had no problem with it whatsoever, because things like that did not matter for me.. I just wanted to lead a life full of adventures, and fighting or participating in a war was the least of my concerns. Back in that day I was happily strolling around the streets of my village, but suddenly I heard loud noises coming from the alley, which was just a couple of steps ahead, to my right. The noises resembled a fist fight and weeping, without a second thought I quickly dashed to the scene. I hid myself beneath the corner of the building and observed the scene from a far. There were three bullies, beating a significantly shorter boy. The boy appeared to be around my age and the bullies seemed to be older by at least two or three years. I instantly became disgusted by the scene and wanted to do something about it, but deep down I realized that I was just too weak to fight all of them head on, so I was silently waiting for my opportunity and enduring each blow that the boy took from them in my heart.

I used to detest the fact that kids were overly violent and cruel in my village. But even at that point of time I understood that these things were happening, because of the lack of attention from the parents. After all this whole village was more or less a military base and fathers had no time to scold their kids for misbehaving. They were brutal, the kid was unable to even stand up from the blows that he was taking from them, he was laying on the ground brutally beaten and they were not getting enough of it, so they resorted to multiple series of kicks to his stomach and head. The blood of mine was boiling from rage, but my hands and legs were just shaking from fear. I felt useless in the situation, which was present before my eyes. However, to my surprise a miracle happened in front of my eyes. Suddenly I heard a loud shout from a far and witnessed a girl of my age jumping into the scene fiercely and delivering a heavy punch to one of the bullies, which sent the rascal flying into the wall with his nose bleeding. She suddenly started to fight the other two, crying and shouting things like, - “leave my little brother alone!”, “Die freaks!” her actions truly moved me and at first I felt a little bit relieved that I was not needed after all, however. The bullies were far bigger and stronger than her, one of them grabbed her from he back and held her arm movements locked, while the other two started to punch her belly with their fists. She was not giving up so easily it seemed, she bit the bully’s arm and freed herself from the grasp, allowing for her to fight back. However, she just appeared to be outmatched and in all honesty looked really lame in the eyes of her brother. She just gotten herself in the same mess, but this was the point where I decided to step in.

I charged right at them directly, while roaring like a beast in rage, but my voice merely attracted their attention and they easily dodged my flying fist, delivering me some strong frontal punches to my teeth. Due to sheer force of the punches that were thrown at me I collapsed on my back. Now, I looked like a lame excuse of a hero, and I was just trying to do justice and impress the girl, who truly motivated me. The bullies were just laughing at me and literally destroying me with their blows and kicks. The sister of the victim just sat down besides her beaten brother, the girl was covered in bruises as well and seemed to be exhausted, the blood was oozing from her fractured lip and she bursted into tears of despair. I was taking in the pain head on, but for some unknown reason this made me smile, it just felt really good to help them... even if I was failing to protect them... It made me happy, because I had the courage. The bullies suddenly became disgusted from my weird smile and backed away, giving me the room to stand up on my feet. I sighed and wiped away the blood from my bruised face with my right hand. I had no chance against those thugs, but something in my heart was whispering that I was supposed to fight back and then an unexpected thing happened to me. I awakened my powers, a true late bloomer of my family I was, but I did awaken them and for the first time ever it felt so natural to use them.

My fists suddenly ignited in bright red flames, I was not sure how I did that myself, but they just lit up for the first time ever in my life. The were burning vibrantly and the other kids were in awe just by looking at my fists. At first I screamed in fear, I thought that my hands were burning, but that was not the case. Instead I was not feeling the heat, I was the heat itself. Without further thinking I threw my fist towards the nearest bully and it landed fluently on his cheek, burning it slightly in the process and causing for him to fall on the ground instantly. The other thugs became scared and were giving me questions how I was controlling the flames at such a young age. And yet I thought that it was normal for every kid to be familiar with sorcery, but it appeared that it was not the case at all, my father was just strict to me and he thought that I would become one of his killing machines in the future. The bullies began to flee from me, and when I attempted to stop them by extending my right arm towards them, a small, but effective fireball was released from my palm towards their direction. It crashed into one’s back and his coat suddenly set itself ablaze.. He screamed out of shock and quickly removed his burning coat, dropping it on the snowy path and escaping into the distance. The fire on my fists then went away and for the very first time in my life I felt amazed by my newfound power. But it was not the time to worry about the fire manipulation, instead I quickly rushed to the beaten siblings and aided them.

Thus they thanked me sincerely and said that I was a cool person, from that very moment we became friends. Those two were my first friends ever and I was ready to do anything to protect them and to nurture our friendship. The girl was named Trish, she was one year older than me. She had blond hair and green eyes, in nature she was very fierce and hot-tempered, but a caring and loving person. Her little brother was one year younger than me and his name was Travis, he was a short kid with blond hair and green eyes as well. They looked very similar, no wonder that they were brother and sister. Travis appeared to be adventurous and brave despite his young age, no wonder why bullies were ganging up on him. It appeared that he was standing up for his own morals. But the best part was that those two shared the same view of world like me, they were curious and were always tackling deep questions of life. We had quite a share of things to discuss about with each other. Thus with time our friendship was increasing more and more. From that day and onward we used to hang out on a daily basis, we played with each other, shared our darkest secrets and pulled lots of pranks on the bullies, who were picking on the duo. Although after witnessing my magical abilities they were always pissing their pants with each encounter.

During this short time of our friendship I became proud of my magical abilities and along the way I felt how natural they were to me. As if the fire was just an extension of my own body. I used the magic to boast in front of them and of course to show off some spectacular tricks with the dancing flames. They were really impressed by my abilities and took me for the head of our little trio. Although I was hiding this ability from my family, because if father were to suddenly realize that I awakened my powers... it would only mean bad business. Thus from the summer right till the end of autumn our friendship was blooming and that was until I decided to sneak outside the walls in hopes to see what was awaiting us on the other side. I was basically getting cocky with my powers and felt like I was able to do anything, but in reality I was just wrong and naive. I dragged the two into my machinations as well. And by arming myself with a dagger, a bow and five arrows in the leather tray I forced them to follow me, via the secret exit route that I created by busting the most unguarded part of the wall with my fire magic.

The kids were pretty afraid of the outside world, but they were just as curious as me.. especially Travis, he was having a blast and felt like he was on an adventure, while in reality we were just venturing into the jaws of death. Trish was clinging to my arm the whole time, despite being extremely fierce she appeared to be very girly. I was merely reassuring her that everything would turn out alright at each step that we took. Thus we entered the dead forest, the wind was not blowing, the branches appeared to be frozen and it was dark as hell. But the deadly silence in the area was a more concerning thing. It was nothing but creepy, along our way we passed by the skeletons of dead warriors and even found bodies that were sucked dry, with no liquids or nutrients inside of them, the eyeballs were dried as well. And with more and more time that has passed I was slowly realizing just how ill the world, where I was living in, was. Just how sad the trees that had no life in it felt and how lifeless the veil of ice was... how dead this world appeared... it made me upset... and instead of finding an adventure I realized that I found nothing more, but disease and pain... A pain, which was the reality. I even started to emphasize with my father a little, he was probably working so hard to protect us from horrors such as these and then by reflecting on the troubled and pained faces of the villagers it made me realize further that the life was far from fun and games. And for no reason at all tears began to build in my eyes and ultimately I found myself crying. Trish attempted to comfort me, by hugging me.. but her efforts were in vain.. Instead I just pushed her away from me and decided to call it a day.

Thus we decided to head back to the village, since we were pretty far from the village at that point of time and it was hard to tell the difference between night and day, on our way home I lit a stick with my flames and made us a torch. We were heading back with our heads looking down, it seemed that we found nothing, but despair. Such a wasted journey it was, but then suddenly I heard a growling noise coming from behind. We instantly stopped on our tracks and froze in terror. I whispered to them to get behind me and shot a burning arrow from my bow towards the direction of the creepy sound. The area was illuminated and two glowing red eyes made their way from the blackest shadows. It appeared to be a hell hound, the beast was almost two meters in length and it’s legs were bulky as hell. The hound’s fur was all black and his fangs were just huge, the liquids were pouring from his jaws. The monstrous dog appeared to be very angry and unfriendly, my legs began to shake, but I was confident enough in my abilities and I was aware that I would be able to bring that thing down. So instead of running away I took my stance, I drew another arrow from the tray and lit it with my flames, aiming at the beast’s direction I shot it, but it did not hit it’s mark as the beast merely flung itself into the air and landed in front of me. I dropped the bow on the snow in panic and drew out my dagger, the flames encircled around the edges of the blade and I was ready to strike the hell hound down with magical flames, I charged onward and plunged the flaming dagger into it’s side.. The beast did not even flinch and instead barked at me. The wound that it received suddenly started to ingest the flames that I was producing inside of it.. and then the black dog’s whole jawline started to glow in crimson as the devastating wall of flames were unleashed from withing it’s mouth... The fire instantaneously ate away the snow and trees around, encircling the three of us in the walls of flames. I was surprised that the beast had the ability to absorb the fire and then use it against it’s foes, it looked like the creature possessed some sort of intellect.

The creature seemed to ignore me, and instead of attacking me it jumped over me. It injected it’s devastating fangs into Travis’ neck and crushed his throat between his teeth, large amounts of blood gushed out from Travis’ mouth as his eyes reflected the shocking death and despair. The beast slammed his fragile body into the snow and began to drill at his insides with his lethal claws, drawing out his guts like a needle would do the same with thread. My mind was unable to perceive what was happening in front of me, I was just shocked and filled with terror, my arms and legs were trembling, my knees were giving up on me and I was about to pass away from witnessing the disturbing scene. Fire magic deemed itself to be useless against the hound and my physical strength was not a match to the beast at all. Everything I could do was to observe how my friend was being devoured by the beast alive.. He was desperately screaming for help, but the internals were falling out of his opened belly one after another in this gory scene.. The pure white snow was suddenly dyed in red from his blood and the beast just kept slaughtering him piece, by piece... It looked like that it was not satisfied by his death alone, it appeared that it craved for more and more... Travis’ sister was screaming in shock and terror and was slowly crawling away from what was left of her brother, while the beast was butchering him insanely.

If this was truly the reality, if this beast was one of the creatures that my sister and father were fighting daily... then it made me sick.. just sick.. even more and more... it made me dead.. on the inside.. but at the very least now I was able to understand their hardships. I realized how foolish I was, but I still had the power.. I still had the strength and Trish was still alive.. At that moment I just had to act quickly, but I was out of options... so I desperately spammed the fireballs at the beast, that deemed to be ineffective. And not a minute has passed how the hound caught the girl and ripped her belly open. But suddenly the rage exploded from within me and for the very first time I tapped into my true powers. The powers that no other human being had, the most powerful and evolved form of fire manipulation, which they called as Light in the legends. I was aware of it, because my father was trying to mimic it his whole life, but I never thought that I would be born with these abilities.. That I would be a natural wielder of the strongest element that humanity ever known of. My whole body was engulfed in the veil of golden energy and my palms suddenly became really warm and shiny. They were shining in white and vibrant colors, sparkling in energy and then I took off the ground charging down directly at the beast, and it only took one punch to bring it down to justice. Upon impact with my fist the hound’s whole body melted like ice and it was disintegrated and ultimately brought into nothingness. I was unsure for myself how I pulled it off, but I felt like I’ve had this ability for a whole lifetime. Thus this was the true beginning of my blooming power.

I quickly rushed towards Travis’ dead body with bloody tears in my eyes.. I was desperately shaking his body and calling for him in hopes for him to wake up, but those were nothing but despair filled delusions. If only I was stronger since the very beginning, if only I did not drag those two with me... then maybe my friends would of been alive, then maybe my destiny would of been different. But the cruel reality was in front of my eyes, however I realized one thing that wherever I was touching him with my shining palms his wounds were healing.. as if those hands were the miracles that I had. However, even though his body returned back to normal, his wounds were healed, his life ceased to exist.. even though I realized that the ability of mine was great and kind it was not strong enough to bring people from the jaws of death. Only my white mane was drenched in his blood. But then in a moment of dead silence I heard someone breathing, it was Trish... She was alive, but barely. I quickly rushed to her side and healed her wounds with my power. She slowly opened her eyes and instead of thanking me for saving her life she started to tremble in shock.. She leaped up on her feet and began to run away from me.

I began to chase after her, both of us were running through the dense forest of dead trees, she was calling me a monster on the way of her run, saying that Travis’ death was my fault and that I was not supposed to be existing in this world. Her words were hurting my feelings and it really made me wanting to give up on the chase, however there was one more truth to that.. The way home was long and I could not afford of losing her, another beast might show up on her way home and get her. Thus despite all the hate that I was receiving I was giving it my all to catch her. Ultimately she bumped into someone, it was a fairly tall man dressed in black, who appeared out of nowhere. It almost looked like that he manifested out of shadows. The man caught her in her grasp and covered her mouth with his palm. Something was odd about the man, his skin was rather pale and his eyes were emanating a strange glow, although they were blue in color and did not seem to be inhuman. His hair was long and black and his attire expressed wealthy lifestyle. However, the most notorious feature about him was the fact that he had sharp fangs for frontal upper teeth. He grinned wickedly and commended me for killing the hound, which appeared to be the man’s pet. He was surprised how a little kid like me managed to defeat his familiar, but the light aura that was coming from within me was making him nauseous. Instead of doing something wicked or even attacking me he decided to get away for that moment of time. He said that he would be taking the girl with him, and just as he said it he just disappeared from my sight alongside with Trish. Just after his disappearance I realized that the man was not an ordinary person, but a vampire.

Thus the mysterious vampire kidnapped Trish and from that point of time she was never again seen in the village. I returned to the village, realizing that I lost both of my only friends.. I was unable to say anything to my mother and father, and was not able to explain why my clothes were smeared in blood.. I was just afraid and shocked, but I attempted to act cool and only my little brother knew what was up with me, but he decided to keep the silence for my well being. On the upcoming morning two children were declared missing and the bravest men ventured outside the walls in hopes to find them, but they never knew what really happened and instead they just had to die in vain. They died for nothing outside of walls, they died because of my foolishness and incompetence. Because I was way too naive, back then I was just a kid, but on that fateful day I realized that this world was in fact cruel, it filled me with hatred for my own world, hatred for my own kind and everything around me. In fact the grief of the lost friends weighed down my soul greatly and my personality was never the same after that incident. It was just the beginning of my journey, but that day I grew up too soon and for the time being I decided not to use my abilities.. I was afraid of them and the world itself.. I was just a weak and scared child.. and this cruelty was just too much for my fragile heart to take, but back then I was unaware what kind of destiny was awaiting me.

-”Mister, hey mister!”- A girly shout pierced through my ears.
-”Huh?”- I tilted my head to the direction, from where the voice was coming from.
-”Are you alright?”- It appeared to be a young, brown haired bar maiden before my eyes.
-”Uh yes... sorry... I was just thinking about something.”- I shook my head in the process.
-”Well, mister.. your steak is already cold, you’ve been spacing out for a whole hour now. I thought that something bad has happened. Do you want for me to change the meal to a warm one for an extra fee?”- She politely wondered.
-”Oh no, it’s alright I will eat this one the way it is...”- I shook my head again and remembered that before starting to reminisce about my past I stumbled upon a restaurant, located somewhere in Oriel. As the girl walked away from me I looked through the window and saw my own reflection in the glass. It appeared that I was crying for some reason.. that’s right I’ve been crying for the loss of my ancient friends.. oh how I wished to be stronger back in that day.
-”I’m really sorry, that I failed to protect both of you... I’m really sorry... I will never be able to atone for my sins...”- I silently been whispering to myself and then looked at the horizon through the very same window.. I inserted a small piece of cold steak inside of my mouth and the visions of my past started to haunt me once again, as the pendulums were set backwards and returned my consciousness to the ancient times of my life. As it was really just the beginning of my journey...

To be continued...
(Just a fraction of his lost memories. Let's say that his backstory has began and it's quite a long one, so this is where the main focus will go, leading up to the current point of time.)
